Material Planner

Location, Newton, NC Job Title Material Planner Role Purpose Prevent production shortages while meeting KPI's KPI's:

(Experience of 4 years with APICs CPIM or higher certification may supplement for education.

years' experience in international material planning and management MUST HAVE Desirable APICS CPIM Certification, Management Experience in international material planning and management.
Specific Functional Competencies, Knowledge and Skills Required Essential Strong skills in excel and other MS Office systems.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Firm understanding of ERP systems and their operational functions and abilities.
Strong understanding of multilevel BOM structure.
Ability to clearly communicate with international suppliers.
Desirable Strong understanding of SAP, Access and Statistics are a plus Key Responsibilities Analysis Use analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain KPI's.
Analyze material requirements, orders, schedules, lead times, transportation type, and container quantities in order to calculate the most beneficial economic order quantity.
Provide analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals.
Analyze, review, and create scrap authorizations for materials deemed as obsolescent and/or excessive.
Data Management Maintain MRP settings and Min/Max inventory levels in SAP and bolt on systems guided by lead time, ABC analysis, and targets set forth by the Vendor Management leader.
Supplier Management Responsible for the coordination of material replenishment between the plant and the supply chain in order to meet the demands of the production schedule while maintaining targeted inventory levels.
Establish partnership with supplier counterparts.
Complete and maintain logistics protocol.
Maintain contact, transportation, and lead time information in ERP and bolt on systems.
Track missed ASN's, shipments, and expedited shipments in order to initiate MCN to supplier quality and chargeback to at fault suppliers.
Hold biweekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings with targeted suppliers as set forth by Vendor Management Leader in order to proactively identify risks and work with supplier to mitigate impact to values stream.
Escalate part shortages to the value stream team in order to minimize impact.
Schedule and manage meetings with escalated suppliers, with the support of purchasing counterpart, in order to minimize the impact on value streams.
Transportation Management Work with 3PL to manage and schedule transportation including Milk runs, weekly pickups, and expedited transportation as needed, in order to meet the demands of production.
Work with 3PL to reduce lead time, maximize transportation efficiencies, and minimize costs to Client.
Continuous Improvement Work with cross functional teams in order to identify, plan, and implement corrective actions throughout the facility.
Identify opportunities for improvement and lead cross functional teams in PDCA activities.
Responsible for communicating when there is an issue affecting the Environment, Health, Safety or Quality to his / her respective Manager.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
