About The Opportunity
What you?ll do
Role Purpose
Responsible for the Metrology process and Calibration program at GKN Newton. Manage daily activities and work flow in the Labs. Ensure all labs maintain ISO/TS compliance at all times. Seek new opportunities to improve metrology capabilities and performance in the labs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, develop, maintain a calibration system for all gages/metrology equipment at this site
Develop metrology services for components manufactured in SBG & MC plant 1
Develop metrology services for purchased components and assembly process in plant 2
Support and develop training of all Lab associates (metrology labs / calibration lab)
Develop and maintain a MSA program (SPC, Gage R & R)
Support global, regional and local problem solving in the area of metrology
Ensure quality Management system procedures are implemented and updated as needed
Review and approve specifications for new gaging and metrology equipment
Responsible for planning annual CAPEX budgets for Metrology Equipment
Develop and submit robust business cases, purchase requisitions, and pertinent supporting data for required equipment and services.
Ensure ISO/TS and EHS procedures and policies are followed at all times in the Labs
Responsible for ensuring all lab equipment is maintained in good working order
Responsible for continuous improvement in metrology/calibration methods and services
Develop good working relationship with Quality, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing and Assembly
Perform time keep activities for hourly employees (Kronos)
Administer performance reviews of lab associates
Develop and maintain key performance indicators for areas of responsibility and report.
About you
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of work experience in metrology field
Minimum 4 years of supervisory / management experience
Ability to read drawings and GD&T of machined components in chassis/powertrain commodity
ISO / TS requirement knowledge
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in Tier 1 Automotive industry is desirable
17025 certification lab experience
Experience in using systems and tools like SAP, Gage Management software, SPC Software (Minitab)
Formal training and practitioner of AIAG core tools ? APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA
Knowledge of Calibration Standards (Military, ISO, ASME etc..)
Gage design / Fixture design / gage specifications & tolerances
Gage repair and calibration knowledge/experience
Experience with part lay out and inspection techniques
Experience with all types of measuring equipment (Dimensional, Optical, CMM, Force, Pressure, Electrical)
Experience with change management / project management
Demonstrable skills in Excel and PowerPoint

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
